Send the right brand master

Provide vector artwork where available, together with a viewable reference showing the intended appearance. Identify the approved logo, language and colour, and check for missing fonts or linked images. A screenshot or low-resolution image should not become the production master by accident. Make sure you hold the rights needed to use the mark and artwork submitted for the project.

  • Name files by collection, version and date.
02

Define placement, orientation and scale

Specify logo width or height, its position relative to a handle end and the reading direction. Consider how it appears on a curved surface or double-ended tool. Ask for a feasibility review of fine details against the proposed decoration method. The same artwork should not be assumed to reproduce identically on every material, shape or surface finish.

  • Use written measurements rather than an approximate position on an image.
03

Approve at actual size

Check legibility, alignment, contrast and feel on the sample at a normal handling distance. Review packaging separately because its print area and language layout differ. Consolidate corrections in one record and nominate the final approver. Once the version is closed, document subsequent changes so superseded artwork cannot pass into production through a separate email or message.
